Responsible for selling Bassett Furniture home furnishing products, including furniture, accessories, bedding, and protection plan products to retail customers. The design consultant has successfully completed the “Design Certification” program and utilizes “relationship selling” techniques through interior design consulting and ‘makeover’ visits to maximize selling opportunities. Essential Functions • Maintaining a 90-day minimum monthly rolling average at the level specified in your individual compensation plan; • Selling Bassett Furniture home furnishing products in all categories: bedroom, dining room, upholstery, home office, and entertainment furniture, occasional and accent furniture, bedding, window treatments, accessories, outdoor furniture, and furniture protection plan products; • Developing and maintaining product knowledge and awareness of Bassett’s website presentation of products and services • Successfully completing Bassett’s Design Certification Program; • Using technology to conduct virtual interactions with customers; • Developing design solutions that address the clients’ needs and space; • Using the Bassett selling process consistently, including: -Greeting customers promptly – in-store or virtually -Discovering needs including all 5 business factors – product/style, timing, decision-makers, shopping experience, and investment range; -Demonstrating a product, emphasizing features and benefits -Handling objections -Confirming / closing the sale -Follow Up after the sale • Accurately preparing and entering sales orders • Adhering to standards for protecting customers’ personal information • Using Bassett’s operating systems to enter orders, track customer purchases, etc.• Contacting customers daily regarding store promotions, deliveries, and other follow up • Maintaining updated customer files with detailed information • Tracking and assisting with service issue resolution • Completing all required training, shift meetings, and maintaining awareness of communications.
